VISION OF THE HOUSE

Our mission is to build up a church where people become not just halfhearted, nominal Christians, but Compelling Kingdom Disciples

This mission is timeless. The Church has always been called to do three things, in this order: worship God, equip the saints for ministry, and reach the world with the gospel.

After 25 years of ministry, we are just getting started.

From here, the story only grows stronger. We believe God is writing our greatest days ahead.

What is a compelling Kingdom disciple?

As a church, we embody this calling through three core focuses: Presence, Formation, and Kingdom. Our aim is to Pursue the Presence of God, Seek Transformation through intentional Formation, and Establish His Kingdom in every sphere of life.

Ultimately, Kingdom life is one of balance: Presence, Formation, and Kingdom. Each believer is called to grow in all three. Without balance, discipleship falters:

  • Presence + Kingdom without Formation → shallow service, vulnerable to cultural confusion.

  • Kingdom + Formation without Presence → activism without encounter.

  • Presence + Formation without Kingdom → personal therapy with no outward impact.

We believe Jesus calls us to more. To be a compelling Kingdom disciple is to love His Presence, be shaped through Formation, and live boldly for His Kingdom.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches…
— John 15:4–5

PRESENCE

God comes where He is wanted. Our priority is the tangible presence of God in our hearts, our homes, our church and ultimately, our city.

Like David says in the Psalms, “One thing I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” That’s our main priority, the presence of God.

Experiencing God’s presence is the greatest high you will ever find. When you come close to your creator, you feel the kind of love that no person can bring you. You feel the kind of peace that no circumstance can ruin. You feel known in a way that makes you aware of your shortcomings but fills you with confidence that God is more than enough to fix what is broken.

FORMATION

If you’re not being discipled against culture, then you’re being discipled by it.

Formation is your choice. God wants to shape you, but you must embrace the process. Here’s how we walk it out together at The Rock:

  • A smiling young woman holding a booklet titled 'FREEDOM' sitting next to a smiling young man in a black hoodie, both in an auditorium with other seated people in the background.

    Scripture

We trust, teach, and love the Bible as the primary authority for the Christian life.

  • People baptizing someone in a church or religious setting, with water on their faces and shirts, and smiling.

    Tradition

Christianity is ancient and rooted. We honor the wisdom of the church through the ages.

  • People gathered in a large indoor space, some kneeling and others standing, with their eyes closed and hands raised in prayer or worship.

    Spiritual Disciplines

    Worship. Prayer. Fasting. Tithing.

  • Three smiling young men standing outdoors with trees and a cloudy sky in the background.

    Community

We are formed by planting ourselves in the local church, living as family.

These are the ways we contend for gospel impact, city transformation, and cultural renewal.

Being Kingdom-minded also means partnership. We are not in competition with other churches—we believe the greatest impact comes when the body of Christ is united in friendship and mission, working together so people in our communities encounter Jesus.

MISSIONS REPORT

KINGDOM

The Kingdom of God is everything -heaven and earth- brought under the just, loving, and renewing rule of Christ.

Through the Church, God is reclaiming the world for Himself. Kingdom expansion happens as we partner with Jesus to share the good news, invite people into life with Him, and join His body, the Church. This transformation is not only spiritual - it touches everyday life. God redeems our work, relationships, creativity, and culture so that entire cities and communities can be renewed for His glory.

At The Rock, our paradigm for Kingdom expansion is:
